St Georges Day Parade - Falmouth

At the Falmouth and District St George's Day Parade the Archdeacon of Cornwall the venerable Roger Bush, presented Jack with the Chief Scout's Commendation for Meritorious Conduct.
Clare Thompson ACC Beavers read the following citation:
'' Last Summer during the school holidays, a Beaver Scout called Jack was very courageous and helped his Dad following an Accident.
Jack's Dad sustained a serious injury to his hand whilst working in the garden. Whilst there was another adult in the garden next door, who was able to talk to Jack's Dad, Jack realised the situation was serious and subsequently phoned for an ambulance.
He had completed his Beaver Scout 999 Badge just six months before and had been tought to stay calm and talk clearly in the event of needing to call 999.
Jack's quick thinking and subsequent actions helped to get medical attention to his Father quickly. Without this help Jack's Dad's condition would have worsened significantly.''

Fellowship

During last couple of months, members of the Scout Fellowship and Pendynas Scout Network have been enjoying many hidden walks in and around South Cornwall. From St. Keverne, to the Men an Tol and the famous Mine of Ding Dong! Taking in much Coastline and many hidden valleys, the walks are described as easy to moderate and generally stretch between three and five miles, allowing most if not all members to enjoy the activities.

Members can bring a packed lunch and enjoy a great day out taking in some of the Duchys wonderful views. For details of the next ramble, get in touch with Neil Slade (ADC SF) on neil23fal@hotmail.com or call 07866 534 035. Come on... it's good for you!
