MUDDY BOOTS 08 (Sixer/Seconder Days 19th&20th January 2008 at Nine Ashes
150 Cubs from all over Cornwall, attended two days of activities at the County Site, Nine Ashes.
The bad weather passed to the north of us, but we still had rain...and of course with saturated ground MUD!
The bases were manned by the Counties ADC (Cubs), with help of others attending each day. This also included Explorer Scouts from 1st Illogan & Stenak Han Mor ESU(including one who also gave up his birthday to be with us), and Young Leaders from around the County.
As can be seen from the pictures, all sorts was on hand to try, from Communications, Trail, Games, Craft, Cooking, Mini Pioneering and Eggberts to name a few.
A BIG thank you has to go to the ADC’s who along with support each day manned the bases and arranged the activities. They also had to put up with RAIN, more RAIN and MUDDY Cubs. Without them it would not have been able to put on the event. Also THANKS to all who assisted them, some at short notice.
Prizes and ‘BRAVOS’ were given for Eggberts, as were forefits for lost property. We had lots of laughs and FUN!
During Saturday a new Leader with 6th Falmouth( Lance Brooks ) was invested and six Cubs recieved their Silver Chief Scouts Awards, presented by the County Commissioner (ever present with broom and coffee in hand for the two days). Well done to them all.
Also go a great BIG thanks to Sally Tregaskes our outgoing ACC (Cubs) whos well worked plan underpinned the activity days.
The next County Cub event will be county Camp 19-21st June 2008...details to follow soon.
